SO LONG JANUARY!

We're almost to the end of January folks! Don't forget that means that in a week, the January mr Linky will move to the Feb post (not yet posted). Don't forget to post your January Chunksters! More than thirty people bulked up this month and based on how cold it is here in Florida (NO! I am not kidding!!!) I know we need the extra padding! If I get super industrious maybe I'll make a chunkster roll call in the sidebar with links to reviews. I have some fun stuff planned for February so come on back now, ya hear?

AH! There's the rub!

It only takes me eight or nine comments to figure out that something is amiss! Apparently I can only have one Mr. Linky up at a time. SOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo if you are just signing up for  the chunkster on the sign in post just leave me a little comment, and we're good to go. Right now Mr Linky is occupied with the January chunkster links and that's where he'll stay until about Feb 7th, then he'll jump to the Feb Chunkster post and so on and so forth. I'll leave a few extra days at the beginning of each month to wrap up your chunkster reviews, and then I'll make the next month's post. If you miss Mr. Linky you can always link up in the comments.

Clear as mud?

Walkin' In Your Winter Underwear - January Chunksters

Does anyone else have children that think this is a hilarious way to sing that song? Mine collapse in giggles when I do it. Silly little giggly girls. Personally I think they just like giggling. I'm seriously overwhelmed at the scope of response to this challenge...there are participants from France and South America. It really just boggles the mind. I love the way the internet makes the planet seem a little more cozy, like we could all just hang out for an afternoon. I have tried to respond to many questions, but I know there are some I have missed. If you have a question that I haven't answered, please leave another comment or email me at thinkpink(dot)Dana(at)gmail(dot)com, and I promise to try to respond.

HERE is the Mr Linky for the January Chunksters, please share your links so we can all make our TBR lists and piles so gloriously gluttonous that it's practically sinful! Those of you who are participating without blogs can email your reviews to me (see above for the addy) and I will post them at the end of the month.

HAPPY READING (and you all have great looking butts, I don't care which option of the challenge you chose)

Chunkster Challenge 2009

HERE IT IS! As promised! The Chunkster Challenge 2009 Edition!

SIGN UPS END MARCH 1st

There have been a few changes to the rules so please read closely:

*A chunkster is 450 pages or more of ADULT literature (fiction or nonfiction) Don't complain folks, I read all thousands of pages of the Twilight series and they were good, but not a challenge. A chunkster should be a challenge.
*If you read large type books your book will need to be 525 pages or more I asked around and  the average LT book is 10-15% longer or more so I think that was a fair estimate.
*No Audio books in the chunksterIt just doesn't seem right. Words on paper for this one folks.
* You may start any time after signing up. You must complete your reads before or on Nov 15th.
*Short Stories and Essay collections will not be counted.
*Books may crossover with other challenges (see option 4 for a collaborative effort with TBR challenge)
*Only option 4 requires that you make a set list of books to complete the challenge

Those are the basics. Here are your options:

*The Chubby Chunkster - this option is for the reader who has a large tome or two to read, but really doesn't want to commit to more than that. 2 books is all you need to finish this challenge.

*Do These Books Make my Butt Look Big? - this option is for the slightly heavier reader who wants to commit to 3-5 Chunksters over the next ten months.

*Mor-book-ly Obese - This is for the truly out of control chunkster. For this level of challenge you must commit to 6 or more chunksters OR three tomes of 750 pages or more. You know you want to.....go on and give in to your cravings.

And lastly, in an intriguing collaboration with the wildly popular Miz B of the TBR Challenge we have:

*Too Big To Ignore Anymore - this option is for those chunksters on your TBR list. You may select any number of books over 450 pages but you must LIST THEM to complete the challenge and they must be on your TBR list as well (honor code folk, I don't have time to be the challenge police)

Please sign Mr. Linky with the DIRECT LINK to your blog post about this challenge!

**Edited to Add 1/13/09- Mr Linky left this post when I put him in the January links post. Feel free to continue to sign up leaving a direct link in the comments. After March 1st comments and sign-ups will be closed on this post!

Chunkster 09

Apparently many people in the blogosphere are gluttons for punishment. There is a HIGH demand for reading big fat books and being held accountable to read big fat books. So, back by popular demand: The Chunkster Challenge '09. Too Big To Fit the Average Book Bag.

So far I can tell you that the challenge will be held beginning Feb 1 - Nov 15th, 2009
There will be three levels of participation.
There will be a bit stricter guidelines.

I hope to have all the details worked out by Jan 1 so that will be 30 days of sign up before launch and I will keep sign-ups open until April 1st. I will have a Mr. Linky as well.

What I don't have are buttons or banners of any sort, and I don't have the knowhow or time and inclination to learn how to do such things before this starts. If you make buttons, and would like to do this for the challenge, I would love any help you care to give.

Start eyeing the Chunksters - they are many and months are few!
